Anytime I need to getaway from rainy UK I always find myself booking a Ryanair flight to Brescia, Italy. Over the last 2 months I have been there three times, simply because is home ( I was born there ) and I find that is a cheaper getaway destination compared to travelling within the UK.
Brescia has it all. Even though it is a small city there are so many places to see and things to do all year round. It is located in the north of Italy within the province of Lombardia and it’s not too far away from Milano, Bergamo and Verona. It is also famous for its natural attractions such as Lake Garda and Lake Iseo as well as its unique architecture.
One of my favourite places to go whenever I’m here is the castle. This castle is called ‘The Falcon of Italy’ because is positioned at the top of the Cidneo, therefore it overlooks the city from above. The position of this medieval castle was perfect to control the city from various enemies in the past.
If you are someone that likes walking and loves nature, the castle is the perfect location to explore. Moreover, if you just want to meditate it is a serene and peaceful environment to be in because there are many parks within the structure and breathtaking views of the city.
In this beautiful place, in as much as you’ll find preserved dated architecture; you’ll also find a good balance of modern buildings. I just LOVE the mixture of old and new masterpieces I see everywhere I go.
Well, this is just a taste of what my city can offer. More articles are coming about this beautiful place but still, YOU just have to visit for yourself.
TRAVEL IS NOT REWARD FOR WORKING, IT’S EDUCATION FOR LIVING.
